Members can serve in a variety of ways that are easily tailored to their schedule. There are chances to serve together with other members or serve with family, from home, or even through prayer.
Members have the optional opportunity to learn about topics relating to the work happening at the Center for Women & Children. Trainings throughout the year include subjects like trauma-informed care, grace-based care, and mental health. These are designed to grow understanding of the complexities of poverty and homelessness and increase advocacy.
Members give an annual gift that goes toward our Mary Wheeler Circle fund. The funds from all members are pooled together. Each year, Center for Women & Children staff submit grant proposals that the members vote on. We announce the grant recipients at our Night of Celebration, which is a beautiful night of generosity and excitement that bridges the gap between the Mary Wheeler Circle members and front-line staff. (There are two giving levels, $500 or $1000, that can be paid out over the whole year.)
